Meet Our Therapists

Alyssa
ASHA Certified Speech-Language Pathologist
Alyssa is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, who holds a national certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), as well as state licensure in Washington. She is a native of the Chicago area, and has been practicing since 2011 when she graduated from Northern Illinois University.

She has advanced training in intensive reading and writing intervention, Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), and gestalt language processing and the Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) framework, developed by Marge Blanc (2012). She is learning (and unlearning) while working towards creating a neurodiversity-affirming practice. This includes leading child-led therapy sessions, identifying and building on a child's strengths and prioritizing connection with each client.

When not working, Alyssa loves to explore the Pacific Northwest with friends and family. She loves to camp, hike, and paddle board.
ETC LLC's Story

Throughout Alyssa’s various placements in graduate school, she worked closely with both public schools and private childcare providers and educators. Public schools have a clearly defined referral and evaluation process for reading, writing, speech, and language concerns that follow state and federal laws.
However, in private settings, she noted unique needs that differ from those in public education. She quickly realized that there is not a clear path from “I might have concerns about my child’s development” to finding available resources, sorting through all the options, and determining which options were right for each family.
Alyssa felt it was imperative to not only offer private speech, language and literacy services to children who need them, but to inform families and caregivers of all of their options (through public or private agencies); thus the name Evergreen Therapy Connections was born!
Community Connection
